I am excited and honored to be joining Tina for this coming school year. I first began working in the childcare industry in 2010, when I completed a Certificate 3 in children’s services on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Upon returning home to BC I discovered I was unable to bring this certification with me. I spent the next decade working as a gardener for multiple municipalities and received a Red Seal Certification as a Landscape Horticulturalist. My passion for working with children has surfaced many times over the last decade, and I decided two years ago it was time to pursue this. I graduated with a University Diploma of the Arts from Athabasca and enrolled with Pacific Rim Early Childhood Institute. I fatefully met Tina through a practicum placement in 2019 and when she recently announced her intentions to retire my mind whirled. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to purchase her business and work with her as I complete a Montessori Diploma with North America Montessori Centre. I am looking forward to this year ahead, to meeting many wonderful new people and to learning from the best.
Tina Mastroguiseppe
Head Teacher
ECE and Montessori Certified
I am the previous owner and administrator of Mountain Montessori Early Learning Centre. I graduated from the Montessori Training Center of B.C. in 1994 with an A.M.I. (Association Montessori International) Montessori diploma as well as a diploma in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching for 26 years and have been the owner of Mountain Montessori for 20. I still love getting up in the morning and on my way to school to see all the smiling faces of the children! Since graduating I have attended several conferences and refresher courses, both in Montessori and ECE. I continue learning and growing as a Montessori teacher and am constantly amazed at what I learn, not just through the conferences and courses, but by what the children teach me on a daily basis. I enjoy art, music, dancing, yoga, reading, crafting, and having fun with the children! I look forward to continue working as head teacher with the new owner of Mountain Montessori.
Ashley Ravestein
ECE Assistant - Part Time
I have worked as an assistant at Mountain Montessori Early Learning Centre for about 10 years. Two of my children attended the program before I began working there. I found they both enjoyed it immensely and learned a lot through Tina's patient guidance and genuine love for the children. Tina and I work seamlessly together and I am looking forward to working with both her and the new owner.
